Medical Assistance for Jamaica

Medical Assistance for Jamaica (MAJ) Initiative was established in 2007 with the mandate to enhance the services to in-patients and out-patients in Jamaican hospitals and other health care facilities. Since its inception, MAJ has shipped two 50 ft containers of redundant medical supplies and equipment to Jamaica. These shipments were made possible by collaborating with a volunteer organization called International HOPE Canada.

In 2014 MAJ revised its mandate and broadened the scope of assistance to Jamaica. In so doing MAJ formed a strategic alliance with Food for the Poor, an international relief and development organization that offers assistance to Jamaica on a much larger scale.

MAJ's primary responsibility is raising funds to ship the medical supplies and equipment to Jamaica or to help fund other areas of need.
